e-Prescribing (Electronic Prescriptions)

e-Prescribing, or Electronic Prescriptions, is a great benefit for our patients and the community.  Your provider can send prescriptions to your pharmacy of choosing directly from your bedside or during your office visit.  Benefits include, enhanced patient safety and improved efficiency for the pharmacy as well as the patient.  We strive to provide our patients with the highest quality of care and utilize technology to prevent medication errors.  Be sure to ask your healthcare provider about sending your prescriptions electronically on your next visit!

CareSelect Imaging – Open Access.

CareSelect Imaging - Open Access is a freely available web application accessible by providers and their proxies to consult Clinical Decision Support and generate the required AUC Information for a payable claim for all advanced imaging exams as required by CMS PAMA Mandate starting 2022.

Beginning January 1, 2022, Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA) requires practitioners ordering advanced imaging exams for Medicare Part B beneficiaries consult Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) via a qualified Clinical Decision Support mechanism (qCDSM).

  • Ordering professionals
  • Ordering proxies: designated clinical staff operating under the direction of the Ordering Professional to perform the consultation

What exams:

  • CT
  • MRI
  • NucMed
  • PET

What AUC information must be included with Advanced Imaging orders:

  1. AUC Modifier (MA-MF)
  2. G Code indicating which qualified Clinical Decision Support Mechanism (qCDSM) consulted

Why:

  • Provides evidence-based decision making at time of advance imaging exam order - enabling the most efficient and effective use of advanced imaging studies to improve quality of patient care.
  • Participation is a high-weighted Improvement Activity for providers participating in CMS Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) program.
  • In the future, CMS will identify ordering professionals who routinely do not provide required AUC information (aka: Outliers) and impose additional prior authorization requirements for further advanced imaging exams.

CareSelect Imaging Open Access is available to you free of cost.

Register for CareSelect Imaging Open Access:

  1. Go to https://openaccess.careselect.org/registration to begin the registration process.
  2. On the registration page, create an account and provide basic information including name, e-mail, NPI, and a few other informational details.
  3. After submitting the registration, confirm your account by following directions as outlined in the confirmation email.
  4. The last step of the registration process before gaining access to the AUC content will be accepting the End User Licensing Agreement.

Go to:

  • https://openaccess.careselect.org after registration to obtain required AUC Information.
  • Include AUC information along with Advanced Imaging Order when sending to Columbus Regional Healthcare System.
