Meet Our Primary PA, Dr. Larry Burroughs
In an urgent health care situation, there’s no face people would rather see than that of the familiar, friendly Larry Burroughs, P.A., who is one of the primary providers. He’s been taking care of Columbus County patients in the hospital’s emergency department for the last 35 years. He’s knowledgeable, calm and quick with a funny story or reassuring anecdote – whichever you need.
“There’s a place for the emergency room and a place for your primary care doc,” said Burroughs. “We’re not going to replace either. We’re just a great middle step for you when it’s Friday at 5 o’clock, and your child needs medical attention for something that’s not critical.”
A visit to an emergency room can result in a long wait, Burroughs said. That’s not the case at the Urgent Care. And, he notes, the emergency room is not supposed to be used as a primary care office. But many people across the country have made that a habit, which only adds to the wait time.
“Your time’s as valuable as mine is,” said Burroughs. “You don’t need to spend it in a waiting room. We’re going to get you seen and on your way as fast as we can.”
