EMS Nurse Liason

The EMS Nurse Liaison is under the direction of the EMS Medical Director for the continuation of optimum patient care from the pre - hospital situation to the hospital setting and to ensure a smooth transition of patients from EMS Personnel to the Emergency Department. The EMS Nurse Liaison meets the requirements as directed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Kidbase
Kidbase is a program sponsored by Columbus Regional Healthcare System, SCC, and OEMS to help local EMS Squads respond appropriately to medically fragile children within Columbus County. Kidbase identifies children that is most likely to require emergency medical care. The patient care delivered by EMS Personnel is specific to the need of the Kidbase child. Kidbase provides and encourages the use of medical information forms that can be used whenever the child is in need of emergency care.

Access Meds
Access Meds is medical information for use by EMS Personnel, Hospital Staff or Private Physicians. This information is a complete medical history form about each patient. This information is presented by the patient to the health care provider when medical assistance is needed. The Access Med form is kept by the patient and only presented to the health care provider on arrival for medical assistance. Access Med forms can be obtained from Columbus Regional Healthcare System Emergency Department, EMS Office or from the office of each patient's private physician.
